Installation Guide for Stamped Chassis Shell

The installation of stamped chassis should follow standardized procedures, combined with hardware assembly specifications and sheet metal protection requirements. The following is a step-by-step guide and key precautions:

1、 Preparation before installation

Hardware matching check

Confirm that the chassis type (tower/mini/upright) is compatible with the motherboard specifications (ATX/Micro ATX/Mini ITX).

Check the heat dissipation design: whether the ventilation position and the number of pre installed fans meet the CPU/GPU heat dissipation requirements.

List of Tools and Accessories

Tools: screwdriver (magnetic suggestion), zip tie, pliers, heat dissipation paste.

Accessories: motherboard CPU、 Memory, graphics card, storage (SSD/HDD), power supply, screw kit (including spare screw posts).

safety protection

Wear cut resistant gloves to avoid scratching the edges of sheet metal.

Lay anti-static pads or wear anti-static wristbands to prevent static electricity from damaging electronic components.

2、 Chassis disassembly and pre-processing

Open the chassis

Loosen the screws on the side panel (some cases are designed with tool free snap fasteners), and gently pull the side panel.

Attention: Some stamped chassis side panels are relatively thin, so avoid excessive force during disassembly to prevent deformation.

Internal inspection

Remove internal partitions or brackets, ensuring that the motherboard tray screw posts are aligned with the motherboard holes.

If the screw post is missing, select a suitable specification from the accessory package to complete it (fixed with pliers).

3、 Motherboard installation

I/O baffle fixation

Push the metal I/O panel that comes with the motherboard outward from the inside of the chassis, ensuring that the USB/audio interfaces are aligned.

Tip: The integrated baffle motherboard can skip this step.

Motherboard positioning and fixation

The motherboard I/O interface faces towards the back of the chassis and is gently placed into the tray.

Tighten diagonally with screws (avoid excessive force on a single point), leaving a slight space for movement to prevent the motherboard from bending.

4、 Core component assembly

CPU and heatsink

Open the motherboard CPU slot, gently place the CPU (pay attention to pin alignment), and lock the buckle.

Apply heat dissipation paste (rice grain size), install the heat sink and connect the fan power supply.

Memory and graphics card

Memory: Align with the anti mistake slot and press the two side buckles until they make a "click" sound.

Graphics card: Insert it into the PCI-E slot, screw it in, and connect the auxiliary power cord.

Storage and Power Supply

Hard drive: fixed to the rack, connected to SATA data cable and power cable.

Power supply: Fixed according to the chassis layout (bottom/top), modular power supply should prioritize the back line.

5、 Cable management and closure

Routing optimization

Use zip ties to tie redundant cables and avoid heat dissipation ducts.

Hide cables on the chassis backplane or dedicated wiring holes.

Final inspection

Confirm that all interfaces (such as 24Pin power supply, CPU power supply) are securely connected.

Before closing the side panel, check if the screws and jumper caps are missing.

6、 Special precautions for stamping chassis

Anti deformation operation

When installing a large graphics card or heat sink, lift it with both hands to avoid the side panel of the chassis being compressed and depressed.

Avoid placing sharp tools (such as screwdrivers) directly on the surface of sheet metal.

Grounding and Protection

Ensure that the I/O baffle is in close contact with the chassis to prevent static electricity accumulation.

It is recommended to apply insulation tape to screw holes that have not been used for a long time to avoid short circuits caused by metal debris.

7、 Power on test

Connect the monitor, keyboard, and mouse.

Short press the power button and observe the startup screen and BIOS recognition status.

In case of abnormalities: prioritize checking CPU heat dissipation, memory contact, and graphics card power supply.

Common Error Avoidance:

The motherboard screws are too tight, causing PCB cracking.

The graphics card is not securely plugged in, resulting in no display (you need to hear a "click" sound).

Connect the power cord backwards and burn out the component (refer to the motherboard label).

Following the above process can efficiently complete the installation of stamped chassis, while balancing hardware performance and structural safety. If encountering complex problems, it is recommended to consult the motherboard/chassis manual or contact the manufacturer's technical support.
